How can I use Motobit on my Android Auto system and what functions are available?

Android Auto

To use the Motobit app on your Android Auto-enabled system, please follow these steps:

1. Connect to Android Auto and switch to the main screen. For more information on setting up Android Auto, click here.

2. Ensure that Motobit (minimum version 2.2.225) is installed on your Android smartphone and you have a premium membership, the Motobit app icon will appear on the main screen. Now open the app.

3. You are now on the start screen of the Motobit Android Auto app.

The app currently allows you to start navigation for a trip you have already planned. To do this, proceed as follows:

Click on Planned Routes on the far left.

Now select the planned route from the list.

If your current position is far from the starting point, you can decide how you want to proceed.

You are now in active navigation mode.

To stop navigation, click on the stop icon in the top right corner after touching the map. Just like on the smartphone, you can then decide whether you want to continue tracking or not.

⚠️ Important: Navigation will be interrupted as soon as you disconnect from Android Auto. This happens, for example, when the Android Auto system is powered by the motorcycle battery and the motorcycle is turned off.

💡 Tip: You can start navigation by selecting it directly from the home screen in Android Auto or from the Motobit app on your smartphone. As long as navigation is active and not paused, tracking will continue (as in the Android app without Android Auto active).

Note: We are continuously developing the Android Auto functionality of Motobit. Various functions available on the smartphone during navigation, such as the pause options or hazard warnings, are still in development. You can find out more about all the new features on the Current Work & Changelog page!

Apple CarPlay

To use the Motobit app on your CarPlay-enabled system, please follow these steps:

1. Connect to CarPlay and switch to the main screen. For more information on setting up CarPlay, click here.

2. Ensure that Motobit (minimum version 1.0.58) is installed on your iPhone and you have a premium membership. The Motobit app icon will appear on the main screen. Now open the app.

3. You are now on the start screen of the Motobit CarPlay app, which shows a map.

Besides showing your current position on the map as well as searching for a location, the app currently allows you to start navigation for a trip you have already planned. To do this, proceed as follows:

Select the menu on the top right corner.

Click on Planned Rides on the right.

Now select a planned ride from the list.

You are now in preview mode. Change the Routing Type in the top right if needed or directly select Start.

If your current position is far from the starting point, you can decide how you want to proceed. Choose an option and then select Start again.

You are now in active navigation mode.

To stop navigation, click on the stop icon in the top right corner after touching the map. Just like on the smartphone, you can then decide whether you want to continue tracking or not.

💡 Tip: You can control parts of the CarPlay app through your iPhone too, like opening a planned tour on the phone while connected to CarPlay to start navigation. As long as navigation is active and not paused, tracking will continue (as in the iOS app without CarPlay active).

Note: We are continuously developing the CarPlay functionality of Motobit. Various functions available on the smartphone during navigation, such as the pause options or hazard warnings, are still in development.

You can find out more about all the new features on the Current Work & Changelog page!
